TVPPA's 2013 Annual Conference is at the beautiful, historic Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC. Located in the Blue Ridge Mountains with 512 guest rooms, this hotel is known for its commitment to quality and service. In 1973 the contemporary wings of the hotel were added, and in 1988 a period of intensive renovation and expansion occured, culminating in the creation of a $42 million Spa, recognized as one of America's best.

Though George Washington didn't sleep here, a lot of other celebrities have, including F. Scott Fitzgerald, Harry Houdini, Will Rogers, George Gershwin, Thomas Edison, Eleanor Roosevelt and Henry Ford, not to mention eight presidents -- from Woodrow Wilson to George Bush. Of course, it was also host to TVPPA's 2009 Annual Conference and will delight us once more!

Never been to Asheville? Been a while since you've visited? Take a look at Explore Asheville and plan your visit while staying at the Grove Park Inn! There's a ton to do and see in Asheville -- and eat!

Keynote: Courage Under Pressure -
'Perfect Storm' Leadership:

Captain Larry Brudnicki

If you saw "The Perfect Storm," you saw actors dramatizing some of what happened during the worst North Atlantic weather event in at least 100 years. If you attend Larry Brudnicki's keynot address at TVPPA's 67th Annual Conference, you'll see and hear the real thing -- the man in charge of the U.S. Coast Guard ship and crew that executed two rescues during that once-in-a-lifetime disaster.
But Captain Brudnicki's 30-year career is far more than just "The Perfect Storm" -- in just his final five-year assignment, Coast Guard ships and aircraft under his command seized more than 150 tons of cocaine and stopped nearly 3,000 would-be illegal immigrants.
As the Annual Conference, Captain Brudnicki will draw on examples from three decades of distinguished service as he shares ideas on leadership, teamwork, risk management and more.

8:05 a.m. Keynote: Rasmussen Reports Live!:
Scott Rasmussen

If one idea drives TVPPA, it's that its members should always get the highest possible value in any context.
Take Scott Rasmussen: in one speaker, we're delivering a New York Times bestselling author ("The People's Money"), a visionary of the first rank (what else would you call the co-founder of ESPN?) and a columnist and radio/TV host whose work on each platform is nationally syndicated.
But there's more -- Rasmussen is best known these days as the founder and president of Rasmussen Reports, a media company specializing in the collection, publication and distribution of reliable, relevant public opinion polling information.
He'll translate his poll numbers into meaningful analysis and commentary on current events, underlying trends and what Americans want to know.
