Tournament Sponsor
Milsoft Utility Solutions is providing a continental breakfast from 7:00 to 8:00 a.m. and complimentary beverages during the tournament.
The Course
First opened for play in 1899, renowned golf course architect Donald Ross redesigned the course in 1924. In 2001 the resort undertook an ambitious $2.5 million program to restore the course to the past glory and spirit of its original Donald Ross design, resulting in Golfweek magazine’s “Best Restoration” designation. It’s also a “top ten North Carolina course to play” and Golf Digest magazine placed it among the nation’s “top ten courses 100 years or older.”
In the restoration, changes were made at every hole, either to improve playability or aesthetics. The greens’ surfaces were enlarged and reshaped to the original contour, slope and pitch of Ross’ design. The bunkers now reflect Ross’ selection for position, depth and grade. Though the greens are as historically accurate as possible, the surface has been modified with 21st century bent grass.
Tournament Format
Play will be the “scramble” format, with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m. Each golfer must submit his/her handicap or average score on the registration form. We will attempt to balance the skill levels of each team.
If you have arranged a foursome, please indicate their names on the form. Unless you specify a foursome, one will be assigned. Final pairings will be available at the clubhouse during breakfast.
Participation
The tournament is for TVPPA-member utility representatives and their spouses, and for suppliers of products and services to TVPPA member systems.
In addition to the discounted $90 green fee per golfer, suppliers pay a $75 fee per company to fund tournament prizes. (Companies that respond by April 15 are recognized in the conference program as a golf prize co-sponsor.)
Checks payable to TVPPA must accompany registration forms, and play is limited to the first 144 golfers whose fees are received. Cancellations must be in writing. No refunds will be given for cancellations received after May 11 or for “no-shows.”
Grove Park Inn has graciously extended our $90 green fee (discounted from $149) to all rounds played during your stay. Identify yourself as a TVPPA attendee to qualify for this special rate.
