Jim Coode, general manager at Cumberland EMC, Clarksville, TN, for the past nine years, has announced his retirement, effective June 2018.
The cooperative’s board of directors has tapped Chris Davis to serve as assistant general manager and succeed Coode next year.
“I’ve had the pleasure and privilege of working closely with Chris over most of his CEMC career,” Coode said. “His broad cooperative experience and management abilities make him perfectly suited for the general manager position.”
Coode has logged some 40-plus years at Cumberland EMC, starting in the engineering department and serving later as operations manager. He succeeded Carl Wilson as general manager in October 2008.
Davis, a veteran of more than 30 years at Cumberland EMC, has been manager of the cooperative’s administrative division for the past four. He would be the eighth general manager in Cumberland EMC history.
