The Harriman, TN, Utility Board, a municipal provider of electric, natural gas, water, and wastewater services, is seeking candidates to succeed the general manager, who is scheduled to retire in May 2018. HUB has approximately 80 employees serving 11,000 electric customers, 3,150 gas customers, 4,800 water customers and 2,250 wastewater customers in a 240-square-mile area including Roane and Morgan counties. The utility has a five (5) member governing board appointed by the City of Harriman.  The GM is responsible for implementing the policies of the board, hiring, training, and retaining employees; overseeing daily operations and insuring compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Candidates must have a BS (or higher) degree from an accredited institution in engineering, business (accounting, finance, etc.) or related field and 5+ years experience in a senior management position in a multi-service utility.  The successful candidate should have the TVPPA Certified Power Executive (CPE) certificate, or be willing to obtain it within two (2) years of employment.  They also should be effective in establishing relationships with the board, employees, customers, and local leaders.   The Harriman Utility Board offers a competitive salary based on qualifications and experience, and an excellent benefits package.
