Jason Kirkland has succeeded Tommy Troup as manager at Guntersville, AL, EB.

Troup retired Dec. 31 after 42 years at the utility, including the past 10 as its chief executive. He began his career at Guntersville EB straight out of high school, signing on as an assistant meter reader. He rose through the ranks and was named the utility’s assistant manager in 1998.

Kirkland, a Guntersville native, started at Guntersville EB in 1992. He worked initially in right-of-way and later became the utility’s right-of-way foreman. A holder of TVPPA Certified Power Executive (CPE) and Advanced CPE certificates, Kirkland has served for most of the past year as Troup’s assistant manager.
