INTERNET INSTALL/REPAIR TECHNICIAN - A job opening exists in the Johnson City, TN, Power Board Data Department for an Internet Install/Repair Technician. Successful candidate will successfully perform the following: Determine optimal location to install exterior Internet antenna based on signal strength and best line of sight to access point, install external antenna on customer roof or other exterior surface in residential and commercial applications, run CAT5 cable from external antenna to internal access point, including wall fish; terminate, test, and securely fasten all CAT5 cable runs; align external antenna to receive optimal signal strength using a tablet or laptop to measure transmit/receive signal strength and quality, perform Internet speed tests to ensure delivered speeds are within acceptable range, assist customer with initial PC, LAN, and wireless configuration; troubleshoot causes of speed and reliability issues and complete necessary repairs, interact with customers with a high level of customer service skills and in a manner which positively represents JCPB.

QUALIFICATIONS: High-school diploma or equivalent, basic knowledge of RF theory and deployment practices, strong knowledge of networking, cable types, codes, and standards related to commercial and residential communications cabling installation and maintenance; PC skills and experience with Windows-based programs and strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills; minimum two years’ experience in a technical support and/or operations role related to installation and support of telecommunications services, fiber splicing experience preferred, must have the ability to work safety at height from an extension ladder and/or bucket. Position Overview: Assist the department head in managing and mentoring team members, coordinating schedules, monitoring budgets and ensuring the delivery of quality work products. Develop engineering drawings and specifications for projects within the Electrical Power Transmission and Distribution Department. Competency • Be technically competent in all aspects of power electrical engineering. • Manage scope, budget, and schedules for a team of multi-disciplined project and design engineers and CAD Technicians. • Manage multiple projects concurrently. • Manage project budgets including the development of detailed project instructions, scope of work, level of effort, and associated man-hour estimates. • Be responsible for time management and work-product quality. • Keep accurate and up-to-date project accounting on all assigned projects. • Conduct written and oral project reporting for clients and department including project- design status, upcoming milestones, project accounting, percent completes, progress reports, etc.

GENERAL MANAGER - The Electric Plant Board of the City of Princeton, KY (PEPB) is seeking qualified applicants for its General Manager position. PEPB is a municipal electric utility providing electric service to 4,000 customers in the city of Princeton, KY and portions of surrounding Caldwell County. PEPB provides electric service via a transmission/distribution system consisting of more than 13 miles of 161kv transmission line, more than 130 miles of overhead and underground distribution lines, and two substations. The service territory encompasses 100 square miles. PEPB’s total assets are in excess of $30 million, with annual operating revenues in excess of $13 million. PEPB is governed by a five-member board of directors. Board members are appointed by Princeton’s mayor and approved by the Princeton City Council. However, decisions made by the board are independent of the City Council and do not require approval of the Council.

The qualifications for this position are any combination of education and/or experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the job as determined by PEPB. Qualified candidates must possess exemplary interpersonal and communication skills. The candidate must be a proven leader and demonstrate the ability and willingness to participate in community-wide endeavors and projects. The general manager reports to the board of directors and is responsible for the daily operations of the utility and its business affairs pursuant to the budgets, policies and programs approved by the Board. The general manager directs a professional staff of employees with substantial experience in all aspects of the public power industry. The total current staff number is 16.

COMPENSATION: The compensation package offered will vary based on credentials and proven abilities of the individual selected, and can be expected to include a competitive base salary driven by qualifications and accomplishments.
