The successful candidate must be a high school graduate or equivalent; four-year degree in a related field from an accredited college preferred. Entry-level position. Classification in the second level requires basic experience in a systems control environment performing OMS, SCADA, and related system functions. Classification into the final level requires continuous satisfactory job performance, successful completion of required training and the ability to manage all areas of electrical system operation and restoration. Progression to each level is subject to supervisor recommendation. A minimum of five (5) years’ experience related to this work is required. ELECTRIC NETWORK ENGINEER - This position involves research and design for underground secondary network distribution facilities. Performs computations to solve problems using computer programs to complete the work, while making recommendations on methods of system improvements, developing engineering and labor costs, equipment and material costs, and effects on underground secondary distribution network design to support those recommendations. Furnishes technical assistance to other departments, contractors, and customers relative to the underground secondary distribution network. Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university • Good analytical and project management skills • Strong written and oral communication, interpersonal, and team skills • Ability to work independently on projects in a timely manner • Good personal computer skills •Have and maintain a valid Tennessee driver’s license.

Physical Demands: Sedentary work; exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time in normal office conditions, but does involve walking or standing outside periodically for inspections, customer calls, etc. Work primarily in an office setting but includes some field work that requires driving a company vehicle, walking on uneven terrain, working in underground enclosed spaces near low and medium voltages up to 13,000 volts, bending, stooping, and ascending/descending ladders. JOURNEYMAN LINEMAN - The Lenoir City Utilities Board, Lenoir City, TN, is accepting applications to establish an eligibility list for the position of Journeyman Lineman. LCUB serves 60,000 electric customers located in Loudon, Knox, Roane and Anderson counties. Positions in this class perform skilled electrical work in the construction, maintenance, installation, and repair of overhead and underground electric-distribution/transmission systems of the municipally-owned electric-distribution system in accordance with standard procedures.

Knowledge of: Principles, practices, methods, tools, equipment, and materials used in electric-installation/repair work and in the construction and maintenance of electrical distribution and transmission lines. Principles of electrical theory. Safety practices, laws, codes, and regulations related to low and high voltage electric wires. First-aid principles and techniques including resuscitation methods.
