A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible utility management experience, including at least five years at the director or senior manager level in a similar utility operation. Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, are necessary, including the ability to conduct meetings, compose detailed correspondence and reports, and make public presentations. Ability to inspire others to act favorably and establish and maintain constructive relationships both inside and outside the organization is essential. LINEMAN - Memphis, TN, Light, Gas & Water Division seeks a lineman. Duties: Perform skilled work in the construction and maintenance of electric cable and powerline systems and adhere to strict safety regulations. Must have successfully completed approved lineman apprenticeship program or equivalent experience and training. Must successfully complete placement/performance exercises. Must have a valid Class A commercial driver’s license from state of residence. CITY OF MADISONVILLE, KY, ELECTRIC SUPERINTENDENT - EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: Basic requirements of this position include: • Bachelor’s degree and 12-15 years of increasingly responsible experience in the electric-utility industry, including five years of municipality experience; 10 years of supervisory experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential job duties. • Past experience should include power-system planning, engineering and design, transformer banking, system-load analysis, budget preparation and project management; extensive knowledge of SCADA technology. • Experience with overhead/underground distribution systems and related planning software • Thorough knowledge of and experience in design and repair or rehab of electric substation, distribution, and relay-control systems • Strong ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing • Experience in electric rate schedules and rate setting/forecasting • Proficient computer skills including MS-Excel & Word • A commitment to teamwork within a municipal environment; proactive orientation that will keep city well-positioned in a dynamic industry environment.
PREFERRED: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. Experience with negotiating, contracting and the administration of power-supply related contracts.
DESIRED: Valid Kentucky Certificate of Registration as an Electrical Engineer.
