Greg Grissom, president/CEO at Pennyrile RECC since March 2015, has resigned that position.

The Hopkinsville, KY-based cooperative announced that Grissom stepped down Sept. 25. He’s scheduled to take over as president/CEO at Jackson Purchase Energy, Paducah, KY. Alan Gates, Pennyrile RECC’s vice president for operations and technical services, will succeed Grissom on an interim basis.

“We thank Greg for his time at Pennyrile Electric and wish him the best in his new position at Jackson Purchase,” said Pennyrile RECC Chairman Jimmy Futrell. “With our strong management team and staff, our member-owners can be assured there will be no interruption in the cost-effective and reliable service they are accustomed to.”

Prior to joining Pennyrile RECC, Grissom served for 14 years as president/CEO at Hickman-Fulton Cos. RECC, Hickman, KY. That cooperative merged with Gibson EMC, Trenton, TN, shortly after Grissom’s departure.

Gates has logged nearly 30 years at Pennyrile RECC, having signed on in 1989. A veteran of the cooperative’s technical services wing, he was named vice president of operations and technical services in 2014.
