Kim Culpepper

TVPPA President/CEO Doug Peters has named Kim Culpepper to serve as director of TVPPA Education & Training.

Culpepper takes charge of TVPPA E & T having worked the past four years as Technical Training manager. He is retired from East Mississippi EPA, Meridian, MS, where he began a 32-year career at his hometown cooperative as a ground man. He later became a line foreman and, ultimately, a district manager.

“Kim is uniquely qualified to serve in this capacity,” Peters said. “He knows our business, owing to his long career at East Mississippi EPA. Having spent the past four years as TVPPA’s Technical Education manager, he has developed a thorough understanding of the training needs of the Valley’s 154 local power companies.

“You have come to expect excellence in training from TVPPA,” Peters added, “and with Kim’s experience we will continue to deliver it.

“As a former E&T director myself, I fully embrace and understand the importance of training in the daily lives of our employees. They are, without a doubt, our most valuable asset and the training that we collectively provide helps ensure not only a safe working environment but a successful one as well.”

Culpepper succeeds John Cooke, who retired June 1.
