Seven States Power Corp. (7SPC) is poised to deliver Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS) training throughout the Valley from Nov. 19 to Dec. 19.

The training will be led by Steve Noe, director of Strategic Energy Solutions for TVPPA. Noe said representatives from Minnesota-based OATI and Chattanooga EPB, which are partnering with 7SPC on the DERMS project, are tentatively scheduled to attend each session. Materials related to the training will also be available during TVPPA’s Customer Service/Communications and HR Management conferences, set for Nov. 14-16 at The Chattanoogan.

“What we want to do,” Noe said, “is make available to our members DERMS software that would enable them to do load control on their own systems and for end-use customers participating in programs our members might design – water heaters and thermostat control, for instance.

“This could be a key tool for the future, with which our members could manage their own loads and aggregate customer loads,” Noe said.

The DERMS training schedule is as follows (all sessions are 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. local time):

Nov. 19: Lenoir City, TN, UB
Nov. 27: Cleveland, TN, Utilities
Dec. 4: Bowling Green, KY, MU
Dec. 7: BrightRidge (Johnson City, TN)
Dec. 14: TECA (Brentwood, TN)
Dec. 17: Jackson, TN, EA
Dec. 18: 4-County EPA, Columbus, MS
