The TVPPA family is mourning the death of Alcoa, TN, ED lineman Brian Huffstetler, who was killed in the line of duty on Nov. 28.
According to officials in Blount County and Alcoa, Huffstetler, 29, died following an accident in Walland, TN. He was part of a crew working to restore power knocked out as trees and limbs were blown down, across lines, by strong winds. Huffstetler was climbing a pole when he was struck by a falling tree.
“Brian was a very energetic and personable young man – a great employee with a bright future,” said Kenny Wiggins, Public Services director for the City of Alcoa. At the time of his death, Huffstetler was enrolled in TVPPA’s Lineman Apprentice Program.
