Cade

Joe Cade, general manager at 4-County EPA, Columbus, MS, since 2010, has announced his intention to retire.

With his retirement, set to take effect Sept. 30, Cade would close the book on a career that included two stretches at the cooperative – he first signed on in 1983, then left in 1990 to take over as GM at Coosa Valley EC, Talladega, AL. He departed Coosa Valley EC in 1997 for the top job at Flint Energies in Reynolds, GA, then returned to 4-County 13 years later.

“I have enjoyed my time here, and I am proud of what we have accomplished but I feel like it is a good time to get out of the way and let the next generation move us forward,” said Cade.

4-County EPA Board of Directors President Jay Gilliland said the search for Cade’s successor is already under way. Gilliland added that the cooperative’s board hopes to have that individual in place by early fall.

“Joe Cade is one of the finest men I have had the pleasure of working with,” Gilliland said. “We know we have some big shoes to fill, but we are confident that we will find the right person very soon.”
