Columbus Light and Water Department (CL&W) is a public utility system serving over 13,000 customers, providing electric, water and wastewater services in Columbus, Ms.
CL&W seeks an Information Technology Technician to provide analytical advice and direction for application and technology that impacts business operations across the company’s various locations, also to evaluate and/or modify existing technology and to consider changes in business requirements or equipment configuration. This position may be assigned (but not limited to) one of the following key information technology disciplines and/or services: 1) Application Programming 2) Software Support 3) Database Administration 4) PC Support 5) LAN/WAN Support) Help Desk 7) IT Security 8) Knowledge of fiber technology. This position may be required to develop data flow, formulas, methods supplying relative illustrative charts, tables, diagrams, and procedural statements.
Minimum qualification includes a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field preferred. Minimum of an associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience. IT Help Desk or PC setup experience preferred. A+ Certification and Network experience a plus.
