Ryan Trentham has taken over as director at Alcoa, Tenn., ED.

The Sevier Co., Tenn., native succeeds Alcoa Public Services Director Kenny Wiggins, who’s been running the city’s electric department since the 2016 retirement of Eddie Tramel. Wiggins is set to retire at the end of 2019.

Prior to joining Alcoa ED in 2018, Trentham had worked most recently as lead system engineer at Lenoir City, Tenn., UB. He also spent time as an engineer at Memphis, Tenn., LG&W. Trentham also worked part-time and as an intern at Sevier Co. ES while pursuing his undergraduate degree in engineering at the University of Tennessee.

“Ryan has a deep passion for this industry,” Wiggins said of Trentham, who earned his Professional Engineer designation in 2014. “His father worked 40 years as a lineman, so Ryan grew up around power utilities.”
