TVPPA’s staff and members are mourning the untimely passing of Jamie Guin, a lineman at Prentiss Co. EPA, Booneville, MS.

Guin, 36, died in the predawn hours of April 4 while helping repair a power line after a storm. Ronny Rowland, the cooperative’s longtime general manager, said Guin was apparently killed instantly after touching a line he thought had been grounded by a fallen tree.

According to Rowland, Guin’s death was the first fatal accident in Prentiss Co. EPA’s 83-year history.

Guin was laid to rest April 7 in Booneville. Among his surviviors are his widow, Anna Kate Chambers Guin, who’s due to deliver twin girls, Allie and Stella, in May.
