TVPPA’s Communications Advisory Group (CAG) and TVA communicators have built online toolkits for use by TVPPA-member utilities in October.
October is National Co-op Month, while municipal utilities nationwide will mark Public Power Week Oct. 6-12.
TVPPA Vice President for Communications Nathalie Strickland lauded the work done by TVA communicators and the CAG, which is chaired by Marlin Williams of North East Mississippi EPA, Oxford, Miss.
“These toolkits are designed to give our members additional options as they look to increase awareness during Public Power Week and National Co-op Month,” Strickland said.
The toolkits, which are available at tva.gov/toolkits, include suggested content for social-media posts with accompanying artwork, full-page and half-page print ad options, and web banners which can be added to a utility’s web page. Each vehicle, whether online or print, has ample room for a utility to incorporate its logo.
The theme of this year’s content is The Power of Partnership, which Joe Holmes of Decatur, Ala., Utilities called appropriate – Holmes coordinates communications and public relations at his home utility and led the CAG toolkit subcommittee.
“I believe we have produced a toolkit that communicators for both cooperatives and municipal systems will find useful and valuable in promoting the mutual benefits of public power and the power of partnership,” Holmes said.
