Research and Development Services
TVPPA’s Research and Development efforts are driven by the ideas and challenges identified by our members. As public power providers navigate an evolving energy landscape, they encounter opportunities for innovation that can improve safety, reliability, and affordability for the communities they serve.
How R&D Drives Solutions
Industry Connections
Our role is to provide the expertise and industry connections needed to turn these ideas into practical solutions. Through strategic partnerships with TVA, industry experts, and fellow public power providers, we help members develop, test, and implement cutting-edge projects that enhance the future of public power.
Member Driven
One of the key strengths of TVPPA’s R&D initiatives is that they are entirely member-driven. When a member identifies an issue that could benefit from research or pilot testing, we help determine the best path forward. This includes coordinating with industry experts, and facilitating collaboration among multiple stakeholders.
Project Focused
Over the years, our R&D initiatives have resulted in numerous successful projects that have improved operations and strengthened the public power model. Whether developing guidelines to standardize best practices, testing new grid technologies, or exploring advancements in cybersecurity, TVPPA has played a key role in driving progress.
