Job Summary: 

To provide and maintain electric service to MTE consumer members. Must be
physically fit to perform the essential functions, which includes responsibilities as directed.

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Must possess a valid Tennessee Class “A” Restriction 57 commercial drivers’ license.
  • Must have completed Apprentice Lineman training program and have
    Journeyman Lineman certificate and experience.
  • Must successfully complete MTE Metering School, Substation School, and Transformer School, when offered, with a passing grade of 70.
  • Must have working knowledge of RUS construction specifications, which
    includes all residential services and commercial services, underground,
    single-phase, and three-phase line construction, and be able to rotate in on-call.
  • Must possess a positive attitude and sincere desire to be of service in all
    areas covered by the position.
  • Encompass the three virtues of the Ideal Team Player (Humble, Hungry &
    People Smart).
  • Must meet residency requirements as specified in the Labor Agreement.
