Job Summary

Jackson Purchase Energy Cooperative (JPEC) is seeking a Pole Attachment Coordinator to join our team. Ideal candidates must have strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to effectively manage all pole attachment requests including permitting, make-ready, inspections, coordination, record keeping as well as perform audits. 

Job Description

A Pole Attachment Coordinator will work under moderate supervision while performing the following duties and responsibilities:

Manages all pole attachment requests including permitting, make-ready, inspections, coordination, and record keeping. Ensures records and attachment counts are accurate by coordinating and performing audits with attachers. Prepares accurate invoices with appropriate rates for billing. Ensures attachments comply with NESC requirements and Public Service Commission (PSC) regulations. Reviews inspections to assure compliance with Rural Utility Service specifications, PSC regulations, and the requirements of the National Electrical Safety Code to assure the safety of the general public and the reliability of the distribution system. Develops a thorough understanding of all joint-use agreements and the Pole Attachment Tariff on file with the Kentucky Public Service Commission. Obtains the necessary permissions for right-of-way tree trimming, yard access, etc. among other duties. Must be able to work non-standard hours and/or extended hours beyond normal shift and during emergencies (e.g., evenings, weekends, holidays, etc.) in all weather conditions.

Approximately 60 – 70% of work is performed outdoors. Ability to walk/stand for extended periods of time, regularly lift up to 50 pounds, occasionally over 50 pounds. Required to grip, grasp, feel, or twist using the hands, fingers, and/or wrists regularly. Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Operates a computer keyboard and mouse daily. Must live within a 30-mile radius of JPEC headquarters, have a valid driver’s license, maintain good attendance/punctuality record, travel, and participate in designated training programs when necessary. 

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree in related field preferred.
  • Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent required. 
  • One to three years of applicable work-related experience and two years’ basic computer experience is required.
