TVPPA’s R&D Committee and TVA invite you to participate in a Voltage Regulation Survey to help provide information on the current infrastructure capabilities of your system.
This data will be used to identify barriers Local Power Companies have to overcome to deploy Dispatchable Voltage Reduction (DVR) operation as TVA seeks partners to establish Virtual Power Plants in the Valley. One of the most important factors is understanding the cost associated with deploying the necessary equipment to achieve this operation.
TVA is currently conducting studies with EPRI to further understand this subject, including:
- Exploring resource opportunities at TVA to complement current Local Power Company DVR operations.
- Studying demand reduction as it relates to voltage reduction within the different Valley districts.
While the latter study will provide an understanding of the resource benefit, the cost of entry is questionable and varying between Local Power Companies. Your response to this survey will help TVA better understand your needs.
