TVPPA and TVA are working together to create this explainer webinar, led by Cass Larson of TVA and Jim Sheffield of TVPPA, with support from Dan Rodamaker, CEO, Gibson EMC and Chair of the Fuel Cost Subcommittee, and Mike Hynes of TVA.
The 90-minute webinar will cover the purpose of the Total Monthly Fuel Cost (TMFC) rate; its creation from 2009 – 2011 by the Rates & Pricing Committee and TVA; how the rate is calculated; the specific components included in FCA at that time compared to now; and changes that have occurred over time. Webinar facilitators will look at the amount and role of purchased power including market purchases and how these have evolved over time. Finally, they will walk through the process of calculating the TMFC each month, cover why there are three different TMFC amounts (Standard Service, Large General Services, Large Manufacturing Services), and answer all questions from webinar participants.
