With budget deadlines for FY2024 on the horizon, now is the time for the TVPPA Research & Development (R&D) Committee to explore potential research projects for the upcoming year.

The R&D Committee invites you to submit your project ideas – including potential technology demonstration projects – for evaluation as future research projects to be undertaken by the Committee.

If you would like to submit a project proposal, please complete the Idea Submission Form linked here. Please complete one form for each project idea.

The R&D Committee will review each project submission to determine which projects will maximize the benefits of R&D funds by broadly providing value to LPCs across the Valley. We are especially interested in projects that help close technology gaps, deliver cost-savings and maximize efficiencies for LPCs, support the integration of Distributed Energy Resources, and enhance reliability and resiliency.

Once submissions have been reviewed, you may be invited to present your project idea at an upcoming R&D Committee meeting. If you are unavailable to attend, one of our Committee members, TVPPA staff liaison Jim Sheffield, or TVA staff liaison Joseph Johnson, would be glad to present your project on your behalf.

Please submit your projects by completing one Idea Submission Form for each project idea and sending it to the TVPPA R&D Committee via email to Jim Sheffield at jsheffield@tvppa.com no later than September 22, 2023.

If you or anyone in your organization has questions about this process, please get in touch with Jim Sheffield at jsheffield@tvppa.com, or Joseph Johnson at JRJohnson31@tva.gov.

Thank you for taking the time to help your R&D Committee better serve you and all TVPPA members.
