Mark your calendars and register your team to compete in the 2023 Tennessee Valley Lineman Rodeo, hosted by CDE Lightband, June 2-3, in Clarksville, Tenn.
First launched in 1998 to highlight the skills of linemen and cultivate pride in the trade, the Tennessee Valley Lineman Rodeo will celebrate its 26th year when linemen from around the Valley gather to compete and showcase the skills and techniques that are hallmarks of their industry.
The Rodeo includes competitions for apprentice linemen and journeymen teams, as well as events for individuals and senior individuals (over 45 years old). The annual event also gives family and friends an opportunity to see their loved ones in action.
“The Rodeo provides a great opportunity for linemen to showcase their skills and to build camaraderie, but it’s really so much more,” said Danette Scudder, TVPPA Executive Vice President & Chief Strategy Officer who also serves as Secretary and Treasurer for the Tennessee Valley Lineman Rodeo Board of Directors.
“Not only does the lineman rodeo allow linemen at every stage of their career from apprentice to journeyman to demonstrate their skills, but it also provides the chance to enhance their skills by celebrating safe work practices and giving linemen a chance to see how others do the same work.
“More than anything,” Scudder added, “The Tennessee Valley Lineman Rodeo allows both linemen and  managers of local power companies to connect and build a network they can call upon for support when they need it most.”
