Former TVPPA Board Chairman Joe Satterfield passed away on Sunday, January 29 at his home in Blairsville, Ga. Satterfield, who worked as General Manager of Blue Ridge Mountain EMC for 24 years, served as Chairman of TVPPA’s Board of Directors from 2008 to 2009, just prior to his retirement.
Satterfield was widely known and well-respected both within and outside of the Tennessee Valley. In addition to TVPPA, he served in several leadership roles with NRECA, NREMA and GEMC.
“Joe was a great supporter of TVPPA and advocate for the work we do. He leaves a legacy of steady leadership, friendship and support for a generation of Valley public power leaders. He will be missed,” said TVPPA President and CEO Doug Peters.
