Mike Shirey, a veteran of 35 years at TVA, has been named to succeed Danny Brisendine as general manager at Fort Payne, AL, IA.
The 58-year-old Shirey is scheduled to start work April 10.
“I’ve still got some gas in the tank,” he said. “I was born and raised in Fort Payne and lived here all my life, so it was a good fit.”
Shirey started with TVA right out of Auburn University, where he earned his undergraduate degree in civil engineering. He said he spent the bulk of his TVA career in project management, including the first decade in the nuclear arena.
